Onu, who is also the Technical Adviser to Governor Dave Umahi on Youths Mobilization and the State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth leader, said that the decision to partner the church was borne out of the desire to complement the state government’s programme on youth empowerment and development.

He further disclosed that the Assembly would sponsor 52 Ebonyi youths drawn from the 13 local government areas of the state, adding that it would undertake the payment of the registration fees of the participants in the programme that would last for two weeks. He said that participants would be trained in such skills as baking, soft interior decoration, fashion designing, barbing, hair dressing, shoe making, desktop publishing, Ankara craft, websites design and development among others, as facilitated by the Redeemed Iniitiative for skills and empowerment.

The national president further inaugurated a five-man committee with Eze Paul Ituma and Darlington Onwe as chairman and secretary respectively to supervise the successful implementation of the sponsorship of the youths in the empowerment programme.

Onu also thanked Governor David Umahi for appointing a member of the assembly, Prince Ude Aja, as Coordinator of Okposi Development Centre, while calling on the youths of the state not to relent in their support for the programme and policies of the state governor.

The Youth leader maintained that the Assembly would grateful to the Governor Umahi’s kind gesture to the youth, adding that any member of the group found wanting would be
