The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze, has called on all his supporters to disregard series of fake Facebook accounts (including this https://www.facebook.com/OHOPDP) opened with his name by members of the opposition political parties whom he said were bent on impersonating him to enable them drive the propaganda and lies on which they have built their campaign on.
Obaze pointed out that he had only one Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/OselokaHObaze/, insisting that he does not operate any private Facebook account.
He also disclosed that he operates Twitter account (@OselokaHObaze) and an Instagram account (Oseloka H. Obaze).
He however advised his supporters: “Kindly disregard and report any other social media pages claiming to be me to the appropriate quarters as my opponents especially the team of the incumbent governor has resorted to a campaign rooted in calumny and propaganda targeting my person.
“Do not send or accept friend requests from any Facebook account bearing my name. I only operate a Facebook page.
“I wish to reiterate my personal commitment to running an issues-based campaign.”
The PDP governorship candidate also advised the chairman of the Wille Obiano Campaign, Chief Victor Umeh, to call his team to order, warning, “These social media posting emanating from their camp have gone well beyond acceptable limits and therefore must cease.”
Obaze however called on Governor Willie Obiano to speak up against the breach of ethical campaigning, stressing, “No to do so will be a tacit and open endorsement of such negative activities.”
