By Douglas Ahiaba

The founder /General Overseer of the Abiding Word Miracle Centre, Anyigba (A.K.A Bethsaida),Emmanuel Okai, has admonished Christians in Nigeria to live righteously by turning away from all forms of evil to avert God’s wrath.

Okai gave the advice in an exclusive interview with our correspondent at the mission’s headquarters in Anyigba during her 2016 annual convention/5th year anniversary celebration held between the 7th and 11th September, 2016 with its theme, “The Believers’ Authority”. The Man of God maintained that the only way to attract God’s blessings and avert His wrath or indignation was to live righteously.

Okai further called on the people of Nigeria to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government in its effort to reposition the battered and shattered economy, saying that to repair is more difficult than to destroy. He urged Nigerians to be steadfast in praying for the president instead of being critical of his government.

The general-overseer also charged Nigerians to support the Anti-corruption fight of the President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that corruption was responsible for all the hardship Nigeria and Nigerians are undergoing, urging the Federal Government to intensify its campaign and ensure all looted fund is recovered. When asked if he perceived any attempt by the APC -ed Federal Government to Islamize Nigeria as claimed by some persons, Okai described such perceptions as divisive, untrue and a calculated attempt by some politicians to discredit the President Buhari led government. He further stressed that Nigeria as a secular state cannot be Islamized by any individual or government, urging Nigerian Christians to jettison such cry.

Okai also advised Nigerians to be patient and prayerful, saying that the current economic recession was going to be transient and the nation’s economy will bounce back to its normal footings. He said that the steps taken so far by the current administration was in the right direction, especially the fight against corruption which has been the bane of the nation’s progress.
