Borno bound NYSC members begin orientation in Bauchi

The National ‎Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch B members posted to Borno State have began their three weeks orientation in Bauchi State.

The NYSC members comprises of 770 males and 617 females.

In his address at the orientation camp in Bauchi,  Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima, commended the Corps members for their patriotic response to serve the nation and their commitment to adapt to a new environment.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Jidda Shuwa, the governor assured the Corps members that despite the security challenges in the Northeast, Bauchi remains peaceful, hoping that they will‎ enjoy the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the state.

He said, “There is no doubt we have security challenges in all parts of the country today but I wis‎h to assure you that Bauchi State is peaceful and your security is guaranteed throughout the period of the orientation.

“All necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure that you have a peaceful and a hitch-free orientation course,” he said.

He thereby urged them to ‎utilise the NYSC scheme to prepare mentally, physically and otherwise for the challenges ahead.

The governor also commended the Borno State NYSC for its prompt mobilisation of its staff to prepare for the Corps members to feel comfortable at the camp in Bauchi State before their deployment to various places where they will serve.

Also, the Borno State NYSC coordinator, Alhaji Lawal Turawa,‎ congratulated the Corps members for the successful completion of their academic programmes which qualify them to be mobilised for the scheme.

He reminded them about the challenges ahead after their three weeks orientation programme, which he said, was designed to prepare and instil in them‎ leadership qualities for future challenges.
