Why Fortuna Sacked Head Coach Sunday Oliseh

-

Two weeks to the second anniversary of his resignation as the manager of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, once a head coach of the national team, was on Wednesday fired by his Dutch club, Fortuna Sittard FC over attitudinal issues.
Oliseh in a tweet said he was suspended on the strength of a bad deal the club wanted him involved.
According to the club management, Oliseh’s sack as the coach had nothing to do with the string of bad results that the club has had recently.
The club has lost its last four matches. But the club explained that it had to relief the former Nigerian manager of his role as coach for his rigidity.
According to the club’s website, “the club management makes this decision as a result of the repeatedly culpable actions for a long period by the trainer towards several persons in the organization.
“Several attempts by the club to move the trainer to other behaviour remained unfortunately without result, resulting in an unworkable situation as a result.”
“The board of Fortuna Sittard emphasizes that the decision to disband Sunday Oliseh is not motivated by the current sporting performance,” the club added.
“Because of his inadmissible actions, the coach has made the co-operation with many people within the organization impossible. From players to employees. Fortuna Sittard regrets the decision, but states that the club interest goes above all else.”
Oliseh in a tweet said, he was suspended following a bad deal the club owners wanted him to get involved which he declined..
As a footballer, Oliseh and many national team players were excluded from the Nigerian World Cup squad in 2002 for disciplinary reasons.
Two years later he was sacked by Borussia Dortmund after head butting teammate, Vahid Hashermian while on loan with VfL Bochum.
He began his career as Super Eagles’ manager when he had altercation with the then skipper, Vincent Enyeama, forcing the goalkeeper into international retirement. He was later reprimanded by NFF, his employer when he posted a provocation video on YouTube abusing his critics, especially the media men.
Barely a month to a crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Egypt, he resigned via twitter message he posted at about 2:28 an on February 26, 2016, exactly a month to Nigeria’s encounter with Egypt.
