Ike-Njoku wins ACT award

Nneoma Ike-Njoku has emerged winner of the 2015 edition of the Awele Creative Trust (ACT) award with ‘The Buriel’.

The Awele Creative Trust Centre and the ACT Award judges – Joe Dunthorne, Chibundu Onuzo and Rahul Bhattacharya – who said that they were pleased to announce the 2015 winner, explained that Ike-Njoku’s ‘The Burial’ “is a clever, deftly delivered tale which remains in the imagination  long after it has  been read”.

The judges said, “thanks to all the writers who gave us a chance to read their work, and our congratulations to Ike-Njoku, who wins N50 000”.
