The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) factional governorship candidate in November 2017 Anambra State election, Dr Hygers Igwebuike, said on Tuesday that Governor Willie Obiano was just warming the seat for him as his election was unlawful.
Igwebuike emerged the governorship candidate of APGA in the August 24, 2017, primary election conducted by the faction led by Chief Martins Agbaso as its national chairman.
At the Lagos International Airport enroute Abuja, he said that the officials of the Independent National Electoral Council (INEC) compromised their position but expressed confident that he would get justice at the court.
Said Hygers, “Willie Obiano is holding brief for me, he knows that I am the authentic candidate of the party. Obiano knows that his primary was defective. I am optimistic I will regain my victory. They have been using all illegal means to stay on but it won’t last. Even last Tuesday, January 16, they went to file fictitious suit so as to get a secret kangaroo judgement from an Awka High court.
“I went to the court and got the CTC (certified true copy). They didn’t serve me but they want to give judgment behind me.
“The determination of who is the authentic candidate will soon be given by the court; so let Ndi-Anambra not panic because their candidate will emerge soon.”
Also, Hygers berated Obiano over poor performance, saying that he has reduced the bar of quality leadership set by his predecessor, Peter Obi.
According to Hygers, “most of the things his government claims that they are doing are just propaganda, nothing on the ground to show. He is not telling people his government is owing workers’ salaries. He has used up all the money accumulated by Peter Obi on frivolities.
“We have to look at what in Economics is called comparative advantage, that which you know that you can do better than others, develop it. What has he developed for Ndi-Anambra? But all that will soon be a thing of the past when I mount the saddle to provide quality leadership”.
