One World, Sweet Breeze, others to perform at 2017 Old Skool Xmas Re-union

Nigerian Breweries Plc has endorsed this year’s Christmas old skuul music jamboree being organised by OCBB Entertainment at the Villa Garden Hotel, New Owerri, Imo State, on December 22, 2017.

Chief Alan B. Onyemaechi, the Project Director of the annual music festival tagged, “Legend & Classics,” disclosed this in Owerri.

While appealing to old skuul music lovers to attend en masse, he disclosed that the bands billed to perform at the rich music festival include One World, Sweet Breeze, Apostles, Wrinkar’s Experience, Soki Ohale and the Cee Jebs from the Old Skool.

He also pointed out that the music jamboree would be spiced with a “New Skool” music sensation, Nigga Raw; and prominent bongo artists.

On the importance of the music show, Onyemaechi said:  “It will go down in history as the biggest gathering of Ndi Owerri (Owerri people); that is, those who had something to do with Owerri since 1976 when Imo State was created; so a great feeling of nostalgia will be provoked at the show. Those expected to attend are coming from all over the world. They are drawn from old boys of Emmanuel College, Holy Ghost College, Government College, all in Owerri as well as those who were in tertiary institutions (1976-1986), a period that witnessed rock music explosion featuring those artists.”

It would be recalled that the project director, Alan B Onyemaechi, in the 1970s and 80s, was a major partner of these music legends, whom he popularised through his Radio Disco Theque that revolutionalized mobile Disco East of the Niger at the period.

Meanwhile, Onyemaechi has appealed to music lovers to buy their tickets in advance through its website www.ocbb.com.ng and from Diamond Bank Plc nationwide vide a/c No: 0083713191 to make for proper planning and to avoid over subscribing the admission into the show. Tickets are also available at the hotel front desk.

The organizers appealed to Imo people to be part of the music gathering as it will offer opportunity for useful interactions on general issues concerning those Legends & Stars of yesterdays and to take stock of their past and present as well as the city that provided them huge followers.

Major music promoters of shows during the era such as Super Promotions, Chubby Promotions, Dee Moore and Charlton Promotions have all endorsed the show and are providing support to the organizers, Onyemaechi said.

He assured of tight security at the hotel, venue of the event.
