The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris on Wednesday promised to arrest those behind the incessant killings in Benue State.

Speaking in Makurdi, Benue State capital, Idris also assured the state governor, Samuel Ortom and other stakeholders that all those involved in the killing of over 70 residents of the state, will be brought to justice.
The IGP’s arrival at Benue State capital today follows President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to move to Benue State and restore law and order and prevent further loss of lives and properties, from escalating and spreading in the state.

To achieve this, the IGP says, three counter-terrorism units have been deployed alongside mobile policemen to Benue.

He said they will be assisted by the aerial surveillance and the operations will spread to bud Nasarawa and Taraba State communities that share the border with Benue State.
