TheNiche On Sunday – Online Newspaper
Acclaim Communications Limited is the publisher of TheNiche online newspaper ON SUNDAY, an exclusive Sunday online newspaper designed to fill in the gaps in the print media industry in Nigeria. The company which was licensed with RC number:1173476 under the Company and Allied Matters Act of 1990 in February 2014 commenced publication on April 20, 2014 and its registered address is at, 1A Agbareh Close, Off Bamishile Street, Off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.
The newspaper true to its name prides itself as:
Nigeria’s only exclusive Sunday newspaper
That does credible, insightful and investigative reporting
That is refreshingly different in look and feel
That reports issues from all sides
That offers true value for money and time.
Our Editorial Policy is a reflection of the era in which it emerged. In many ways the emergence of the publication is a response to the structural dysfunction of the Nigerian Republic and prevalent mood of disillusionment. In helping to find solutions to the myriad of problems, however, TheNiche will strive to always be positive as well as optimistic.
We support the structural reconstruction of the Federation because of our strong belief that the well-being of the Republic and the living standards of its citizens can only be guaranteed through fiscal federalism.
We want to see Nigeria transform into a community of producers. A productive state propelled by individual and community efforts, a democracy anchored on production rather than consumption. We saw this happen in the 1960’s when the Eastern Region of Nigeria was the fastest growing unit in the entire British Commonwealth of Nations.
TheNiche will always anchor its position on the need for social justice, fairness and respect for human and individual rights. The paper will be uncompromising against any form of discrimination and subjugation either by tribe, gender or religion. TheNiche believes that for sustainable progress to be made, there must be strong institutions.
For as President Barack Obama sensibly pointed out in Ghana, in Africa the age of the ‘big men’ has gone. Today’s age is that of strong, independent, technically empowered institutions and regulatory bodies.
This is why we will fight uncompromisingly for an independent judiciary, independent Central Bank and strong, independent regulatory agencies. This is because the state is no longer a provider but is now a regulator of a host of services and products. Strong institutions are therefore needed to support such a state.
We will also support market based reforms anchored on fair competition and equity. We will therefore seek to practice journalism in the most professional and ethical manner and serve the public trust with due diligence.
To be a leading information provider in the print media industry based on in-depth and analytical reporting of issues.
To be a leading provider of credible, unbiased and factual information to all Nigerians irrespective of religion, ethnic origin, sex and class. TheNiche on Sunday will be dedicated to the pursuit of free speech and free enterprise.
