World/Nations Cup qualifiers: NFF members go spiritual

-

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), executive committee members, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh and Sheriff Inuwa, left the country last week, for Medina, Saudi Arabia, where they are currently observing the yearly holy pilgrimage.
Both football administrators were in Uyo as the Super Eagles fell 0-2 on home soil to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and after the ill fated game, the Niger State FA chairman, Fresh, who is also chairman of NFF referees appointment committee, said qualification for the World Cup in 2018 and Nations cup in 2019 is not negotiable as Nigerians will not forgive the board if the Eagles fail to make it to three consecutive Nations cup competitions.
Kano State FA chairman, Sherif Inuwa could not agree less, stressing that qualification for both competitions is a priority that must be achieved.
He also enjoined Nigerians to always put the Super Eagles in their prayers.
“This is not a time to apportion blames, it is a time to reflect on the journey so far and proffer solutions going forward he concluded”
Inuwa is very confident that the Super Eagles can finish ahead of South Africa from the group if they win their remaining five games in the group, adding that with hard work and prayers, this dream can become a reality.
Both administrators have already set the ball rolling in Medina where they have not stopped praying for the Super Eagles ahead of their fast approaching game with Cameroon in August.
