Buhari prays in Ka’Aba chambers in Makkah

President Mohammadu Buhari on Friday offered special prayer for peace, unity and prosperity of Nigeria at the holy Ka’Aba chambers in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The president prayed alongside members of his team to the holy land. They included the governors of Zamfara Abdulaziz Yari, Kashim Shettima of Borno, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun and Aminu Masari of Katsina states.

Others were The Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II, Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwan Akiola, Emir of Maradun, Alhaji Mohammed Garba Tambari and Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Haliru Momoh, Sheikh Ahmed Lemu, Alhaji Isa Funtua, Sheikh Yakubu Musa, Sheikh Nasidi Abubakar, Alhaji Badara Eze, Wale Tinubu and Ismaila Yusuf Chafe; Abdul Sule, Muhammad Garba, Adamu Sambo, Garba Bello Gusau, Ibrahim Zanna, Salisu Murtala Isa, Adamu Akinola, Bukar Usman Goni and Nurudeen Yusuf were also in the group.

Praying in the holy mosque of Ka’aba is a special privilege given to some individuals.

The chamber was opened at the instance of King Al Saud of Saudi Arabia as a mark of respect for the visiting Nigerian President.

Speaking on the significance of chamber, Sheik Lemu said the gesture is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for every Muslim which is remarkable.

“But it is a golden opportunity, if anybody is lucky to go in there and supplicate for Allah for all his needs and for the nation and humanity in general, it is a big deal”, he said.
