Akeredolu reduces tuition fees for tertiary institutions in Ondo

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has ordered the reduction of tuition fees in all Tertiary institutions in the state

In a circular signed by the Acting Registrar & Secretary to Council Of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, (AAUA), Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa stated that the reduction takes immediate effect from 2019/2020 cademic session.

“I write on the directive of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga E. IGE to inform all returning students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko that following an earlier appeal by students, and in view of the economic effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the country on parents and students, the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has directed that the University should consider a reduction in tuition fees in a way that quality education can still be sustained in the University.

“As a follow up to the above, a meeting between the Governor, the University and the student leaders was convened,” the statement stated

“Consequently, the Visitor has approved the underlisted reduction of tuition fees with effect from the 2019/2020 academic session, as recommended by Council.

“The Current Tuition Reduced Tuition for all Returning Students are as follows:  Science N150,000.00  now     N120,000.00, Social & Management Sciences N150,000.00 now N120,000.00

:Agriculture N150,000.00 now  N100,000.00

“ Arts N100,000.00 now N80,000.0

“Education which before was N100,000.00 now N80,000.00.  Law  N150,000.00 remains  N150,000.00.”

The circular stated that all students are therefore advised to take advantage of the reduced fees by paying their school fees and register for their courses without further delay.

“By copies of this circular, all Deans, Heads of Department and stakeholders are requested to note this information, please,” it added.
