Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, is not taking the humiliation given to him by former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu lightly.

Recall yesterday that Tinubu gave Buhari some knocks for trying to impose a consensus candidate on the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu said in an abridged transcription of a speech he delivered in Yoruba: “If not for me that stood behind Buhari, he wouldn’t have become the president. He tried the first time, he failed, the second time, he failed, the third time, he failed. He even wept on national television and vowed never to contest again but I went to meet him in Kaduna and told him he will run again; I will stand by you and you will win, but you must not joke with Yorubas and he agreed. Since he became the president, I have never got ministerial slots, I didn’t collect any contract, I have never begged for anything from him, it is the turn of Yoruba; it is my turn.”

Tinubu said of Dapo Abiodun: “It’s over 25 years now that I have been serving them, this one sitting behind me (pointing at Dapo Abiodun), can he say it that he would have become the governor if not for me?” Tinubu said furiously why browbeating that he would clinch the APC ticket anyway.

Dapo Abiodun replied Tinubu, albeit indirectly. He said: “I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance. I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”
