Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has insisted the Serie A champions will not be selling goal poacher, Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian international inspired The Parthenopeans’ first Serie A title since 1990 after netting a scudetto-sealing equaliser in their 1-1 draw against Udinese on Thursday night.

His goal came after the hosts had taken a shock lead in the 13th minute when Sandi Lovric put them ahead after profiting from an assist from lyenoma Destiny Udogie.

Reports from several media outlets suggest Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and some other clubs are all out to battle for his signature this summer.

However, De Laurentiis has said he plans to keep most of the stars of the team, including Osinmen together for next season.

He also hinted that he has put all modalities in place for a contract extension for Serie A title-winning coach, Luciano Spalletti.

“I will not sell Victor Osimhen this summer — no way,” he told Rai.

“I’ve already activated and triggered the option to extend Luciano Spalletti’s contract for next season.”

Osimhen is on course to become the first African player to win the Italian Serie A Golden Boot with 22 goals this campaign.

He has already broken Samuel Eto’o’s record (21) for the most goals scored by an African Player in a single Serie A season and tied George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A.

Napoli signed Osimhen from French club, Lille, in 2020 after netting 13 goals from 27 matches in all competitions.
