Ronaldo parts ways with United after controversial interview

Ronaldo while reacting to the development, assured the fans that he still loves Man Utd and its fans and that the separation will not change that

Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement with immediate effect following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

This was made known in a 67-word statement issued by United on Tuesday evening, where the club announced they had reached an agreement with the player to terminate his contract.

Ronald, during an interview with TalkTV last week criticised the Manchester club owners, the club’s hierarchy and their manager, Erik ten Hag, saying they have “no respect” for him.

The terse statement posted on the club’s social media handles read: 

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford,” it read.

Reacting to the development, Ronaldo assured the fans of the club that he still loves Man Utd and its fans and that the separation will not change that. 

He said, “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.

“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.

“I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season.”
