Saka visits grandparents in Kwara

Saka arrived Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday, May 31, following a successful season in the English  Premier League (EPL)

Arsenal striker, Bukayo Saka, was seen in a now-viral video visiting his grandparents at Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria.   

The Gunners star arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday, May 31, following a successful Premier League season in which he helped his club secure a Champions League spot next season.

Prior to his trip to Kwara, Saka was spotted in Bariga Lagos, where crowds of Arsenal fans showered him with affection.

Later on Saturday, June 3,  Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu received the England international at the government house in Marina, Lagos.  

After the courtesy call,  the 21-year-old Arsenal winger took to his Instagram page to thank the governor for the gesture.

He wrote, “It was great to meet and talk with His Excellency @jidesanwoolu. Thank you for the invite.”

Saka after the visit to the number one citizen of Lagos State, has now been spotted with his grandparents in Kwara State. 

Sharing the photo on his Twitter handle, a Twitter user identified as Abdul A Bello wrote:

“Bukayo Saka at ORO, Kwara State with grandparents. Proudly to be Kwara.”

After the post made the rounds online, it elicited a lot of reactions from his fans, as many agreed he is a look-alike of his grandfather

One said internet user wrote: “I always suspected his originally from Kwara considering the name ‘Saka’. I even thought he’s from Ilorin gangan.”

Another netizen added: “Bukayo Saka in Kwara state with his grandparents. The resemblance with his grandfather though.”

Another Tweep said; “That guy in blue has a striking resemblance to Saka as well.”

While another fan wrote: “His younger brother has a striking resemblance with him. What a gene!”

Saka was born on September 5, 2001, in Ealing, London, to Yoruba Nigerian parents, Adenike and Yomi Saka.

He recently extended his stay with the North London club till 2017.
