While in Kenya a similar occurrence also took place. The Ministry of Sports last year sacked the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and appointed a caretaker committee in its stead.

According to Infantino, these two countries were suspended for interfering in the administration of football in their respective countries.

He went on to say they know what to do to return as a member of the world football governing body.

He said, “We had to suspend two of our members; Kenya and Zimbabwe, both for government interference in the activities of football associations. The associations are suspended with immediate effect,”

” They know what needs to be done for them to be readmitted or for their suspensions to be lifted.”

Meanwhile, FIFA and its President

Gianna Infantino called for a “rapid cessation” of the Ukraine conflict on Thursday while confirming that Russia’s game against Poland next month is being reviewed as “a matter of urgency.”

Russia is due to host a 2022 World Cup play-off with Poland on March 24 and if victorious another on March 29 against the winners of the Czech Republic and Sweden, and these federations have demanded the matches be moved.
